The first Media Project details a fake real estate and financial company Blackrock, in Cascadia. This organization is meant to be a satirical and cynical take on the real Blackrock hedge fund. This group controls the majority of real estate in the future and many aspects of the lives of the Cascadian's in my fictional take on the brief about Cascadia provided for us in this class.
The second project consists of a counter-narrative project meant to be a response to Blackrock by a fictional group, Stone Crushers. Stone Crushers is an underground protest organization meant to oppose BlackRock and their dominance in the future world of Cascadia. Their techniques included a discussion place for members, imagery, and code to provide meeting places
The third piece of media is a Video Pitch meant to combine both aspects of the first two projects. Stone Crushers hacks a live commercial from Blackrock and displays their own message. The video is meant to be a homage to old broadcast television hacks where the signal is interrupted with message.
